Access Levels
There are 3 levels of access to the ACT TRAVELWISE website:(1) Open to all (i.e. public).
(2) Open to those who have registered as a website user.
(3) Open to ACT TRAVELWISE Members only.
It is important that you register under the correct category of access, if you have any questions please call Rory McMullan on 020 7348 1970 or email mail@act-uk.com.
Every time you login you have the facility to:
- Edit your personal profile
- Edit your company profile
- Edit your email subscriptions
- Upgrade to full membership (if you are not yet a fully paid ACT Member)
Navigation and Searching
The ACT TRAVELWISE website is essentially a database website.This means that unlike a simple static website (e.g. one that a village football club might set up to paste recent photos onto), our website has 2 distinct parts; a 'front end' and a 'back end'.
The site you see is the 'front end' and enables you to wander around the different sections, searching and then clicking on news, events, documents, etc. All the these articles are stored on the 'back end' i.e. the database.
All this means is that you can search and navigate around our website and 'pull up' from the database any item you wish. Pretty much like how you 'pull up' files from your computer hard drive via 'windows explorer'.
Remember you can submit your own information into this database too, so that other people can read about your Travel Plan work. This is what a 'community' website like ours is really all about, sharing best practice.
Our database 'tags' any every artilce by a topic (e.g. cycling, car sharing, buses, etc), an organisation (e.g. local authority, transport operator, NHS, etc) and a region (e.g. North West, Wales, London, etc). Which means you can be very specific when searching for items on the site.

Submitting Information
ACT TRAVELWISE is a a membership organisation - this is your website! Share your Travel Planning:- Events

- Links
- Jobs
Simply fill in the required information and press submit at the bottom. Your information will then go up on the website after it has been approved by the webmaster (this may take a day or two).
If you have and questions about how to submit information please do call Rory McMullan on 020 7348 1987 and he can talk you through the process.
Please note that only ACT Members can submit to all areas of the site, Registered Users cannot submit News, Documents, Links or Jobs. You can see the full breakdown of access levels in table form here.
