The Transport for London (TfL) Business Plan confirms multi-billion investment to boost transport capacity, create thousands of jobs and strengthen London's global position.

Campaigners have written to the EU's Environment Commissioner to demand legal action is taken against the UK for alleged breaches of air quality laws.

The UK will become the first country in the world to make emissions reduction targets legally binding after MPs voted in favour of passing the Climate Change Bill.

The country will now be committed to cutting greenhouse gas emissions by at least 80% by 2050 and the Bill will include targets for aviation and shipping, following the recommendations of the Climate Change Committee
