Introduction
The Government's Energy Efficiency Best Practice Programme, in
partnership with the Association for Commuter Transport, are currently
organising a series of free seminar on travel plans. The seminars will be a half-day in duration and will begin with a light lunch.
Increasingly, organisations are recognising the commercial
benefits of taking action on commuter and business journeys, and
implementing measures to reduce the reliance of their staff on single
occupancy car travel. Often these measures are implemented as part of an
overall travel management strategy, otherwise known as a travel plan.
Seminar Content
The seminars will highlight the reasons for developing a travel plan
and the benefits that can accrue to both employers and employees. The
seminars will help you to:
- Learn about the benefits of travel plans
- Understand how a travel plan can be implemented and how to develop
partnerships, drawing upon the recently published Travel Plan Resource
Pack and other publications aimed at suppliers of travel plan products
and services
- Learn from the experiences of other organisations in your area who have introduced travel plans
- Find out about the sources of assistance and information available to help you implement a travel plan
There will be speakers from:
- Association for Commuter Transport
- Steer Davies Gleave
- Halcrow Fox
- Local organisations from your region involved with travel plans
