The Transport Practitioners Meeting (TPM) was launched to provide a much-needed forum for transport practitioners. Across the country it is clear that there is an increasing focus from Government and local authorities on the delivery of an agreed programme of transport schemes. TPM intends to help local authority staff and consultants with the increased demands to link policy and project implementation to climate change issues, more efficient use of the existing transport network, sustainable regeneration, a better environment and increased accessibility and social inclusion. ACT TravelWise members receive a discount to attend.
Key Features
The event will be directed towards good practice and practical issues of implementation. It will be multi streamed and targeted at young professionals, experienced technical staff and middle managers. The event will offer a number of invaluable opportunities for networking. As a platform for transport professionals from across the country to present latest best practice, a large component of this year's programme is related to TDM.
Audience
The meeting is aimed at professional engineers and technicians, transport planners, land-use planners and urban designers drawn from central, regional and local government and those companies that advise them. It is designed to help build the image of the transport profession and to encourage the involvement of younger members of the profession as a way of enhancing their career development.
